Tish Murtha is a powerful and brilliant photographer. I also contributed to the Kickstarter campaign (and have a print waiting to be framed), but whenever it’s been shown locally I’ve sadly been unable to go!
I wish I'd known about it at the time. I'd certainly have contributed too. I'm so unlucky. It's being shown in Edinburgh on the day I'd planned to come to Scotland, but I delayed my travel by a few days to attend something here.
Happy New Year, Neil! I'm just catching up on my Substack Inbox. Thanks for the Tish documentary recommendation. I'll look forward to seeing the film when its available here in the US.
Thanks so much for the mention 🙌🙌 Great post as usual. Hope you get to see Tish -- her daughter has created something very special and pertinent in her name.
I got a press screener link for review just a couple of days ago, so I'm going to watch that over Christmas then there'll be a review on here sometime. However, I've bookmarked the link already as I'm certain I'll want to see it again.
I didn’t know anything about Tish Murtha until the past few weeks. Looking forward to catching the documentary sometime soon. Totally agree with you about Slow Horses. Absolutely amazing and Gary Oldman is incredible as Jackson Lamb.
A character like Jackson Lamb would normally turn me off immediately. I have a low tolerance for fart gags and such. Testament to just how good he is, and the show is, that I'm hooked. As for Tish, yeah, I hope to see the doc soon too. Fingers crossed.
I saw 'Tish' a few weeks ago, in fact contributed to the Kickstarter campaign to make it. An excellent film. I hope you manage to see it.
Sadly not seen it yet, though I'm hoping to see it sometime soon. Fingers crossed.

It's showing in Edinburgh on Monday, but I don't fly back to Scotland until Sat. 23rd. Dammit. I'm sure I'll see it soon enough. I hope.
I think it’s on a run but they’re only promoting the sessions with q and as. You should be able to watch it as normal 🤞🏼
Fingers crossed :)
Just spotted this in case you don’t get to see it on the big screen, you can now rent it https://player.bfi.org.uk/rentals/film/watch-tish-2023-online
Magic! Thanks Nat x

I too wasn't familiar with tish! Thank you for sharing Neil!
Oh tremendous! I'm glad I could introduce you to her work. :) Thanks also for sharing.
Thanks for the mention! Imagine my surprise when I stumbled across it in the wild...
Any time, Bill. It was a great piece. :)
