Thanks, man. I appreciate that. I'm glad to be back. I hope it can be sustained for a bit, we'll see. I need to get back to reading 'stacks too. I've been horribly lax on that, as well.
Sorry to hear about your dog, friend. Great hearing from you. And that second photo on the page (the first under 'Extended edition' with the girls) is next-level good.
Thanks, Dan. It was such a shit month in July. It's coming up to 2 months and I still miss Bajka as much as I did minutes after she left us. Still, she was in so much pain it was a relief in the end. Urgh. Anyways, thanks so much for your thoughts on the photo. I love that you love it. That's so cool. <3
Sounds unbelievably busy and no surprises that a creative side project has taken a pause. Welcome back. The photos from Poland are compelling. Stories in every single one. As a Scot I’m drawn to the last two, the final one in particular - I came back from Afghanistan in 2009 and we spent time on Skye, thinking perhaps we’d build a house there. It wasn’t to be but it holds a place in our hearts.
Thanks so much. :) I'm happy you enjoyed the photographs. I won't lie - as much as I enjoyed shooting on film, when I moved to digital for work, then sort of stuck with digital this year, it has given me a fluidity in my photographs I didn't expect. It's going well, though. :)
I took those last 2 photos when Marta and I escaped to Scotland in July, just after our dog died. We were broken, and we just needed not to be in an empty flat, y'know? As a Scot, for me, Scotland is home. As a Pole, Scotland has always been Marta's happy place, so there wasn't any doubt where we'd go.
Skye also has a special place in my heart, too. When I was a kid, my family didn't have money for overseas hols, so we found ourselves up there. I loved it.
So sorry about your dog; totally understand the need to escape and mourn. We have put off having a dog because of our roaming and adventuring … secretly, I suspect it is also a protection measure - we’d get hopelessly attached and I’m rubbish with the emotion of loss!
And I reckon not having overseas holidays is amply rewarded by Skye as an alternative!
Hello Neil, good to hear from you.

I've been a bit like you. My posting here has become rarer. Work and play has been busy these last few months. It's all good though.
As long as play is close to as busy as play, then life is good. One hopes, at least. :)
Good photos! Nice to see your new work.
Thanks Ella. I'm glad you liked it.
Nice image series and very sorry about your dog. Condolences to you and yours.
Thank you so much. She's very much missed.

Welcome back home, you’ve been missed!
Thanks Nat. I feel ashamed at having neglected some of you folk and your work here on Substack, but it's time to return. I hope you're doing great!
All good! No need to feel ashamed at all. Looking forward to your writings 🙃
Welcome back!
Thanks, Mark.
Great work. I won't pick one because there are so many that stand out. Really, really fine images. And as Andrew said, good to hear from you!
Oh, thanks so much, Donn. That's lovely to read. I'm really happy you liked them. :)
Welcome back, Neil.
Thanks, Mary. It's good to be back :)
